This blade has been intricately modified to the highest level of a sharpen blade, to give the sharpest line with a trimmer with very minimum pressure, clipper has to be calibrated and tension need to be factory set, if screw has been turn, blade may not function properly. Blade should NEVER run hot, blade must be oiled a minimum of 4 times while using it with high viscosity oil on corded and low viscosity oil on cordless trimmer, so that you don’t create friction grooves in the comb blade. If trimmer is drop with blade on it blade is out of calibration could result in improper set or blade not cutting as effective as new, may have to purchase a new blade.
